Bitmob recently posted a screen capture of New Orleans Saints cornerback, Tracy Porter, in what appears to be Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde, the ghosts from Pac-Man, shaved onto the side of his head. During the NFC Championship game, Porter made a decisive interception off Brett Favre to send the Saints to a game-winning field goal in overtime. And I'm guessing it was his new video game centered haircut. Genius, I must say. Pure genius.

It's definitely a possibility! In a recent interview with MTV, Mass Effect project director Casey Hudson stated: "...we have a tremendous amount of interest from people in Hollywood to make a major motion picture about Mass Effect. The most important thing for us is, we don't just want to see a movie get made ... we want to see a great movie get made, if it's going to get done at all." Although video game movies have been pretty sub-par as a rule, I REALLY hope that this could be the exception. Mass Effect is one of my favorite games of all time. I think it has strong characters who exist in a rich universe that could really shine on the silver screen. If they could get Drew Karpyshyn and the rest of the Mass Effect writers to pen a script; then maybe, just maybe, we could see a game-based movie that didn't suck. Well, for those still boycotting Left 4 Dead 2's existence, you might want to reconsider. Valve announced that they will be adding two additions to Xbox 360 and PC versions of Left 4 Dead 2. These will include the addition of bots in the Infected versus mode and the removal of the much-hated multiplayer auto spawn. Valve wrote on their official Left 4 Dead blog that the developer was "adding bots for the Infected team to help out the Infected when they are down a man or two." This means anyone will appreciate this change if they love being a Hunter or a Boomer. This is great news indeed for L4D fans as the auto spawn has left the Infected team with no option to retaliate (and time being an enemy); however the addition of Infected bots will give fans a chance to defeat the lowly survivors without waiting. The blog post also states that Valve is already hard at work on a new DLC campaign called "The Passing." Valve has given no specific release date but we can expect it sometime before summer. Subscribers of Game Informer were treated to a nice peak of Halo: Reach in their February issue. If you were lurking around EB Games' website a day ago, then it was your lucky day. Supposedly, these images were posted accidently before they were taken off. Hit the jump and drool over these 11 brand spanking new screenshots. Halo: Reach is scheduled for release in Fall 2010. Microsoft said today, after a request from a privacy panel on the European Union, that when people used their search engine Bing, they would only keep their IP address for a maximum of six months. This move, besides appeasing the privacy panel, will also help Microsoft to differentiate Bing as the choice for more security conscious surfers. Obviously, the most successful and biggest competition for Bing is Google. In response to the question of keeping and tracking IP addresses, Google said that this type of information is important to the way they supply search query results and to their ability to provide security to Google users. Will this move by Microsoft help to bring Bing to the forefront of Internet searches? Probably not, but at least they are doing something to differentiate themselves from the ubiquitous Google. Bad news for Mass Effect fans in America (no the game hasn't been delayed, children). EA has announced that their 250GB HDD-equipped "super elite" Xbox 360 Elite bundle will only be shipping in Australia. Talk about a mouth full there, folks. An EA representative explained that this is a "local bundle deal" sorted out through EA Australia. The bundle (for those who are curious) includes two black controllers (standard Microsoft controllers with no added designs), a wired headset, a standard copy of Mass Effect 2, a 250GB HDD and an Xbox 360 Elite without any sign of artwork to grace its side (sorry collectors). Just like the Modern Warfare 2 bundle, supplies will be limited. A 15 year-old Romanian boy recently killed his adoptive mother because she didn't pay the internet bill. Since he no longer had the internet, he was unable to play Counter-strike online. After becoming infuriated and stabbing the woman 17 times, Ionut Silviu Savin went to a local internet cafe to continued gaming. He discarded his murder weapon in a dumpster near his house where the authorities soon found it. Savin later turned himself in to the authorities saying "I think I'm the one you're looking for." ... What's the world coming to? People are still playing Counter-strike? Bungie Studios is standing up and trying to do some good in Haiti this week by donating as much as $77,000 to the Haiti Relief Fund. The exact amount will depend on how many players they can get to add a special "Be a hero" emblem to their character when they play Halo 3 or Halo: ODST online on Wednesday or Thursday of next week. For each person that wears the emblem, Bungie is going to donate $100 to the relief fund. Also, you can purchase one of the T-shirts above for $19.95, and 100% of that money will go toward helping people in Haiti. For more information check out the official Bungie site here. Pirates beware: Man sentenced to 12 months in jail for importing DS titles (Posted by: Harrison)1/15/2010 A UK man was sentenced to 12 months of jail time for importing and planning to sell 26,500 DS titles. Pirates should take notice that the aforementioned person used R4 cartridges where data is stored on a Micro SD and downloaded via a flash drive. The R4 has a small slot that the Micro SD card goes into. This goes to show that even with the advances in this type of pirating, the authorities are cracking down more than ever. “Intellectual property theft is an important issue for the country’s video games industry – as is protecting it,” said Michael Rawlinson, Director General of Entertainment and Leisure Software Publisher Association (ELSPA). “We will continue to work with the authorities to prosecute organised IP theft offenders.” If you're one of many DS owners who've thought of using R4 cartridges, consider yourself warned.
