There's just something awesome about stomping goombas in a 3D Mario game that has side-scrolling levels. Probably because we've grown accustomed to it all these years. Via GoNintendo, this new Mario Galaxy 2 trailer will surely please the heart and soul of those who adored these areas in the games' predecessor.

(Posted by: Harrison Milfeld) One month ago, it was surprising to hear that Metroid: Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Sin and Punishment: Star Successor would be released for the Wii within a few weeks of each other. But, we forget that Nintendo has a habit of delaying their titles in order to tweak or fix the title's mechanics. Nintendo announced today that Metroid: Other M and Sin and Punishment would be delayed. Other M will release on August 31, while Sin and Punishment will fall on June 27, which was Other M's original ship date.
Nintendo stated in an interview with IGN that Sin and Punishment was pushed back because of how close its release was to Super Mario Galaxy 2. Metroid, on the other hand, was delayed so that Team Ninja and Nintendo could makes some refinements. "Although it's taking slightly longer than expected to complete the project, we're confident that fans will find it to be well worth the wait," said Nintendo to IGN. (Posted by: Harrison) While the everyday Mac owner still awaits the April release (and there's not much of April left too) of Valve's popular online game distribution program, Steam, there have been some who are enjoying it as we speak. The leaked video showcases what the program looks like on the Mac, and to no surprise it looks exactly like it does on the PC. Gameshoe was invited for beta testing for the Mac version, but sadly has not heard back from Valve. Mac owners like the Gameshoe founders would love to finally see Mr. Freeman grace our OS X desktops before April ends.
It's my birthday, folks, so I thought it would be kind from myself to give our fans three comics in one day. The first is from the popular Brawl in the Family, which has it's share of a sweet, yet loving moment in today's comic. The second is from Chris Simmons, who pens Digital Unrest and it recalls the rumors of underwater combat in Gears of War 3. Finally, have you ever thought of a place where your favorite puzzle game was not the same? Well, hit the jump after the first comic and find out.
(Posted by: Harrison) Yes, you heard that correctly folks. According to sources speaking with Bloomberg, Microsoft is in talks to develop a television channel dedicated to Xbox Live. Now, before everyone misconceives this report, this does mean that there will be an actual television channel where the player can engage in multiplayer deathmatches on the popular online console service; in theory, it would mean the viewer would be presented with original programming (a Major Nelson talk show, perhaps?). The company has been talking with former News Corp. President Peter Chernin about the proposed idea for weeks, so until we have a concrete announcement, 360 owners will have to just ponder at what the proposed channel will offer. A repeat of the SEGA's attempt at a television channel would not be a wise business venture. We'll have more as this develops. (Posted by: Harrison) 3D glasses not included According to a post from CVG, Nintendo could be releasing their next-gen handheld, the Nintendo 3DS, sooner than we originally thought. CVG claims that the 3DS could be released as early as October 10. I am surprised at this report and intrigued at the 3DS' possibilities, but why release the new handheld this early? The DS sells like hotcakes as it is in the United States, but considering that the technology hasn't yet been shown off to the public, this might be the hype train just beginning to leave the station. E3 2010 should prove to be the right arena to present the world with what Nintendo has done to innovate another aspect of the gaming industry. Let's hope Nintendo has done their research. (Posted by: Harrison) After a decade of demand from fans, Capcom has announced a third iteration to the hugely popular Marvel vs. Capcom series. Titled, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, the game was secretly announced by Capcom last week at Captivate 2010. Not a single soul outside the event knew about the game existence; it was only thought to be a rumor. Well, the wait is over. Fans of the vastly deep Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes (which is now one of the best selling XBLA titles to this date), will get their chance to pit Wolverine, Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man and other Marvel heroes against various Capcom characters. The trailer above showed off the usual Marvel and Capcom mainstays like Hulk and Ryu, but the end surprised us with an appearance by Resident Evil's Chris Redfield. Capcom has not mentioned any new characters that will join the fight, but rest assured that we'll have our fingers crossed for Deadpool, X, and even Viewtiful Joe. The company did state that fans will be store for "the most epic fighting gamer ever developed." The game is slated for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 for 2011 and will be built using the MT Framework engine, which powered Lost Planet 2. This week the guys talk at length about Pokemon Black and White, one brave little hoothoot and its journey around the subway, infomercials, soft-core vs. hardcore, game publishers' decision not to include books anymore, rock mario, cloud mario, video games as an art form, the iPhone 4g and much much more! They’re eliminating all paper game manuals from their games on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The manual will be replaced with an in-game digital manual. This will reduce the environmental footprint that the company projects. It will also keep you from losing your manual. Hopefully this will catch on. It would be nice to see more companies do this, if only to save some frustration on the part of the gamer. |
