One of Xbox Live's innovative programing ideas is no more. Microsoft today announced that they have canceled 10 vs. 100 for Live. A third season of the popular game was scheduled for a third season, but Microsoft has decided to focus their efforts on other projects. These future projects are said to be enabling the same technology used to develop the after mentioned 1 vs. 100.
When it was released in its beta form last summer, 1 vs. 100 was played by more than 114,000 people on Xbox Live. It's surprising that Microsoft has no future intention to continue 1 vs. 100 when the game was being praised by many Live users. The beta numbers alone don't seem to be a large reason as to why Microsoft pulled the plug on this game. Hopefully the technology they're using for their next project doesn't get the same end result as the 1 vs. 100 team did.
