For everyone prepping massive amounts of food on Thanksgiving Eve, this bit of news may or not sit well with your stomach (well, depending on your taste with movies). While promoting his latest film, The Fighter, actor Mark Wahlberg confirmed that he would be playing Nathan Drake in David O. Russell's adaptation of Uncharted. For those keeping track, this will be Marky Mark's second attempt at portraying a popular video game character, with his first foray being in the disappointing Max Payne adaptation.
According to IGN, Wahlberg did not offer any further information aside from that he "will do whatever the director wants him to when it comes to Uncharted." Surprisingly, Wahlberg mentioned that actors Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci are attached to the project; however, this has yet to be officially confirmed by Russell or the studio behind the Uncharted film. No word yet on when production will start, but so far this is biggest casting note from the film.
What do you all say about David O. Russell casting Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake? Pass or fail?
