Valve announced at today's X10 event that the first campaign DLC for Left 4 Dead 2, titled "The Passing," will be released sometime in March. In "The Passing," players will meet up with the original Left 4 Dead survivors, Francis, Bill, Zoey and Louis, who will appear as non-playable characters. Valve's Chet Faliszek stated that players will rendezvous with the original Left 4 Dead characters during the later portions of the campaign.
The new DLC will also add new common and uncommon infected to the mix, which Valve has called, "The Fallen Survivor." This type of infected will sometimes drop items when killed, like health kits or ammo. The new add-on is said to offer a bigger opportunity to see into each of the character's traits, which will also be explored in the forthcoming Left 4 Dead digital comic. The comic will be illustrated by Powers artist Michael Avon Oeming.
Valve was quiet on other information but they have said to expect more DLC announcements soon.
