Does Netflix have its eyes on the Wii? Perhaps. At CES yesterday, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings announced that the chances of Netflix working with Nintendo are “excellent.” He never actually mentions the Wii per se, but unless Nintendo has some kind of new gadget up their sleeve, there’s a pretty good chance we will see streaming movie rentals relatively soon on the Wii. Unfortunately, if this is the case, the Wii’s lack of HD support might still sway some buyers to use Netflix on one of the other two consoles that do support HD video. Well, HD or not, at least you know you soon won’t have to do without your Netflix fix no matter which console you choose to own.
