In an interview with Kotaku, Nintendo producer Yoshio Sakamoto stated that if any fans of Kid Icarus who want a new game, then it's time to speak up. Nintendo did state that there wasn't a new Kid Icarus title in development for the Wii, but Sakamoto said the company would be interested in bringing back the long-forgotten series; however, Sakamoto is mum about his possible involvement.
"If we can find some sort of way to bring it to the Wii, a way to make the game for the Wii that makes sense, we would happily do so," Sakamoto says. "But just keep in mind it might not be me making the game."
The series, which hasn't been seen since a Game Boy sequel in 1991, has been long rumored to be made on next-gen consoles. Nintendo teased fans with the series main protagonist, Pit, being a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008. Hopefully, more hints are dropped at this year's E3, as Nintendo has been really quiet of shedding any light on their Fall 2010 lineup.
