Looks like we'll have to wait a little bit longer before we can be reunited (hopefully) with our companion cube and the world of Portal 2. Valve announced yesterday that they have delayed Portal 2, their much-anticiated first-person shooter puzzler for the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC, to April 18, 2011. This news comes a few months after Valve delayed the Portal 2 from its original November 2010 release to February 2011. The delay itself is reasonable given the game's surprising slip from the upcoming holiday season.
Valve themselves have joked about the delay in general stating, "This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve's proud tradition of deltas, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date." So, it's quite logical to say that Half-Life 2: Episode 3 exists in Valve Time, which gives many fans hope. Still, even if these dimensions fought over space and time, it would still mean that Portal 2 will find a way on store shelves. Brilliant, Valve. Just brilliant.
