Jason West and Vince Zampella, the founders of Infinity Ward, filed a lawsuit today against their former employer: Activision. They claim that the publisher owes them "substantial royalty payments" which were due to them since weeks before the duo's firing.

"Activision has refused to honor the terms of its agreements and is intentionally flouting the fundamental public policy of this State (California) that employers must pay their employees what they have rightfully earned," said their attorney Robert Schwartz.

Although Activision has yet to make an official statement about why the two men were fired, an SEC filing by the company earlier this week points to "breaches of contract" and "insubordination."

Stay tuned and we'll give you more details as the drama continues to unfold.
